Hi there! Right now I'm a little desperate to make sure that I get to do and see all the things that I want before I leave. A week ago I accomplished one of those things on my list. Steve, his friend (Dennis), and I went down to Titusville to see the launch of the 327-foot Ares I-X rocket. It was Tuesday morning and we left at 6am to be there on time. We got there on time, but it turned out to be hours of waiting and sadly enough we had to go home. Apparently there were too many clouds and other ridiculous obstacles for the rocket to launch. So Wednesday morning at 6am, we once again went to see the rocket launch. It turned out to be yet another day of waiting, but this time we had Chris, the alligator hunter, with us so while waiting for the rocket to launch he went off to find alligators. Two minutes later he runs back and tells us to come. He found one! So if I wouldn't see the rocket launch I would at least see yet another wild alligator. How can this ugly animal make me so happy? I don't know, probably because we only have boring moose and ugly birds in Sweden. Anyway by then I had enough excitement for the day and was ready to go home. But when we got back to our car and turned on the radio, we heard that the rocket might actually still take off today. Right then the count down began and swoosh the rocket was up in the air, and I had accomplished one of my Florida goals.
Another goal of mine is to bring back an avocado tree. That one is going rather slow. I'm one of the greatest avocado lovers in the world and seeing an avocado tree makes me so excited. I was lucky enough to pick as many avocados as I wanted from my friends avocado tree down in Miami but now I have eaten them all and are desperate to find a new friend with an avocado tree. The alligator hunter Chris actually almost solved this problem when we went out for a run the other day and he found some avocados on the street and showed me the tree in the garden. I saw a beautiful big tree filled with avocados. Now I only have to make friends with the people in the house because I don't know how popular it is to scrump (steal) avocados. So feel free to invite me over if you have an avocado tree!
Halloween is also something unique here in the US, and I really wanted to celebrate it the American style. So Chris, Steve, Dennis and I who usually don't live here and don't have any outrageous costumes had to be super creative and make our own costumes. It went extremely well! I decided to use a sheet and turn into a Greek goddess, Steve turned into Angus from AC/DC, Dennis was MJ and Chris was an 80's glam rock star. The party was incredible and I'm still recovering from Saturday's wild night.
So as you see I'm doing pretty good to make sure I'm not missing out on anything while I'm here!
