"This is a major breakthrough for the TransWorld brand, as both of these shows integrate the brand into the programming by emphasizing the respect these A-list athletes have for TransWorld," says Michael Starobin, Bonnier's vice president of media development. "Additionally, MTV2 is available in 75 million households, making these specials an important part of our sponsors' marketing programs." TransWorld's Team Shoot Out is sponsored by Ball Park Franks, and Skate & Create is sponsored by Monster Energy Drink. Starobin adds that the deal is even sweeter because MTV has already signed on to air these events again next year.
The network will air TransWorld SNOWboarding's Team Shoot Out on Jan. 30 and TransWorld SKATEboarding's Skate & Create on Feb. 6, both at 11 p.m. Eastern and Pacific times. As always, check local listings.
The time slot is especially important because this is a premium position in MTV's young-male-focused Saturday night block known as "Rails & Rock," featuring actions sports and music.
SNOWboarding's Team Shoot Out special will feature behind-the-scenes footage of the event, including the shoots of four snowboarding teams — Burton, DC, Rome and Forum — at participating resorts - Sierra at Tahoe, Northstar at Tahoe, Bear Mountain and Snowmass. "TransWorld teamed up with Great Scott films to document each shoot as it unfolded, catching all the trials and errors, as well as the action," says Nicholas Hamilton, TransWorld SNOWboarding's director of photography and video.
SKATEboarding's Skate & Create, now in its second year, created the concept for this type of event. It's an exclusive look at the journeys of four skateboarding teams — Etnies, Circa, DVS and DC — throughout the event. "Viewers will see all the drama and intense planning that went on during the two-month-long event," says Ken Lewis, TransWorld SKATEboarding's marketing and events director.
So mark your calendars, and make sure to tune in!

This is very cool. Having some snow and skate content from a household name like transworld will be a great interesting to watch. Best of luck!
