Top Ten for Gastronom App

Russian food magazine Gastronom has made magazine history: It's the first magazine to break the top ten list of applications at Apple's App Store in Russia. The iPad version of the magazine, which was launched on Jan. 31, was downloaded 4, 800 times in the first five days. The iPad version of the magazine offers extras like more pictures, plus audio and video featuring chefs and celebrities.

"We're flattered that the app is so popular, but we feel it's well-earned because of the high quality," says Editor-in-Chief Andrey Zakharin."This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Gastronom magazine, so launching an iPad application now is very symbolic for us. The new media format provides us with new tools and possibilities that we are excited to take advantage of. It also allows our foreign readers to get new issues as quickly as possible."
