For the second year in a row, Sweden's web entrepreneurs and others interested in social media gathered together on Tjärö island on the west coast of Sweden at SSWC, Sweden Social Web Camp. Some 400 people gathered together over the weekend of Aug. 13-15 to camp, swim and take saunas - and talk about the future of the Internet. Workshops and presentations are held based on interest, and run by the participants themselves. Three Bonnier companies sponsored SSWC: Expressen, Sydsvenskan and DN.se. A number of the participants were also from Bonnier companies, including Anja Gatu of Sydsvenskan, Björn Hedensjö of DN, Björn Jeffery of Bonnier R&D and Per Åström of TV4.
Expressen's social media editor, Emanuel Karlsten, was there for the second year in a row. "Expressen wants to encourage and support a place where ideas can develop freely, and sees participants as an important success factor," he writes in his blog Tabloism 2.0.
