Svensk Filmindustri (SF), the leading Scandinavian production and distribution entity, announced today that it has signed a long-term distribution agreement with Metro Goldwyn Meyer (MGM) covering Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland and including both theatrical and DVD/BluRay Disc rights.  The deal includes the entire MGM catalogue and new releases over a five-year period, as well as both of the highly anticipated upcoming two Hobbit films (set for release in 2012 and 2013) and the next film in the long running Bond franchise, Bond 23 (due November 9, 2012). MGM and Svensk look forward to distributing Bond 24 on a similar basis.

"We are thrilled to be the Scandinavian distribution partner for MGM, and are looking forward to working with their entire catalogue and their fantastic slate of upcoming films," said Rasmus Ramstad, CEO at Svensk Filmindustri. "We have had a fantastic relationship with Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum over the years and it's great to be able to continue this partnership with them at MGM."

"It was really important to us to continue our wonderful relationship with Rasmus and the Svensk team- we know that they are partners who share our vision and are the industry leaders in their region with unparalleled distribution capabilities," said Barber and Birnbaum, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officers of MGM.
