Simon Lindberg: Celebrities

Our GROW New Yorker went out to look for famous faces this weekend.

After my friends left on Tuesday, the rest of the week was really quiet. I was exhausted and tried to battle a cold in time for Saturday when my girlfriend was due. To come visit, that is. So I spent a couple of weeknights in bed with the computer on my stomach, watching the third season of The Wire.

But, as you can imagine, the weekend was busier. After a little sightseeing in the afternoon, Saturday night we went to a theater in Chelsea that is run by some people from Saturday Night Live. We saw an improv performance with none of the people from Saturday Night Live. It was okay, but I'm not that crazy about the improv genre. The actors are usually devoting all their efforts to coming up with something to say and forget to act. And I guess I was hoping for more famous faces than that guy on 30 Rock who looks like the love child of Uffe Larsson and Lasse Kronér.

On a side note, the only famous person I've seen in New York so far is Filip Hammar. And I've seen him three times. That can't be right.

Anyway, according to the forecast, Sunday was the only day of the week Lisa is visiting the weather was supposed to be nice, we went to Central Park. At night we went to see Hair on Broadway. Compared to the improv the night before, Hair was more my cup of tea. I'm a fan of the movie and the songs so there was a very small chance of me being disappointed. But wow. The energy almost blew me away. Very unlike my first Broadway experience I wrote about a couple of weeks ago.

Ok, gotta go. I need to show my girlfriend New York City.
