Silver Megaphones Awarded in Berlin

Jahrbuch der Werbung - the yearbook of advertising - gave out its silver Megaphone awards, with emcee Dieter Moor.

At the historic Moskau venue in Berlin, some 300 guests gathered  to celebrate this year's first major award show in advertising, hosted by the Jahrbuch der Werbung  (Yearbook of Advertising). The yearbook is published by Econ, an imprint of Ullstein Buchverlage.

Master-of-ceremonies was culture journalist Dieter Moor, and presenters of the Megaphones, the name of the awards given out, included Karina Tietje of KTI Multimedia (jury chair for the prizes), Arno Lindemann of Lukas Lindemann Rosinski ad agency, Jochen Kalka of advertising magazine Werben und Verkaufen, and Jahrbuch der Werbung editors Willi Schalk, Helmut Thoma and Peter Strahlendorf.

Winners included: in Digital Media - Leo Burnett Frankfurt with "Fiat Punto Evo Challenge;" Tribal DDB Hamburg and Saatchi & Saatchi Germany won for their integrated campaign "Grenzen gab's gestern" (Yesterday's  Borders)  for Deutsche Telekom; they also won for their interactive viral campaign "Chef für einen Tag" (Boss for a Day) for the Otto Group in the B2B category; HEIMAT, Berlin won four prizes, one for cinema commercial of the year for "Das grenzenlose Haus" (The Unlimited House)  for Hornbach, one for ambient media campaign of the year for "Beyond Borders" for CNN, one for "Wie viel Wahnsinn steckt in dir?" (How Crazy Are You?)  for Hornbach, and finally, it was named Agency of the Year; newcomer agency of the year was elbkind, Hamburg.

The winners and those on the short list will be published in issue 48 of Jahrbuch der Werbung, out March 11 in bookstores. The book provides a comprehensive overview of last year's advertising, trends and changes in communication and an industry-specific breakdown of advertising. A browsable online version will be available in May at www.jdw.de.

Jahrbuch der Werbung has been published since 1964, and has become an industry standard among advertising professionals in Germany, as well as Austria and Switzerland.
