Premiere for Nya Affärer Magazine

The first issue of the newest magazine for entrepreneurs from Bonnier Tidskrifter hits the newsstands on Thursday.

First came the Swedish website Nyaaffarer.se – now comes the magazine. Nya Affärer, aimed at entrepreneurs and small business owners, is an initiative of Bonnier Tidskrifter's Veckans Affärer and Privata Affärer business magazines.

"The idea with both the website and the magazine is to provide the country's small business owners and entrepreneurs with news, entertainment and a network," says Per Hammarlund, editor-in-chief for Privata Affärer and responsible under Swedish press law for Nya Affärer.

Subscribers to Privata Affärer and Veckans Affärer could order a free copy of the first issue. And tomorrow the first issue will be on the newsstands. On top of this, Nya Affärer has already started a mentor program that's become quite popular.

"The mentor program has been well-received, with both mentors and their proteges indicating that there was a need for such a program," says Hammarlund. "Interest in scholarships has also been greater than anticipated and today we have over 200 applications for exciting spots. We're working just now on producing more background information, doing needs analysis, developing matching processes and securing scholarship sponsors. We're expecting to launch the first round at the beginning of the year and the second round after summer."
