Starting in 1804 as a small book store and publishing firm, Bonnier is now a multi-channel media company with experience and knowledge in a full range of media in 175 companies across 16 countries. The activities are divided into seven business areas: Books, Broadcasting & Evening Paper, Business Press, Digital, Entertainment, Magazines and Morning Paper. Bonnier AB is wholly owned by the Bonnier family through Bonnier Holding.

Business Areas

Bonnier Books

Bonnier Books is the leading publishing group in the Nordic region and one of the leaders in Germany. The business area includes publishers, book clubs and bookstores, both in physical form and online.

Bonnierförlagen is Sweden's largest publishing group with a broad publishing in all genres. It is comprised of, among others, Albert Bonniers förlag, Wahlström & Widstrand and Forum, plus AdLibris (the largest online book store in the Nordic countries) and several book clubs. Bonnier Media in Germany publishes fiction through the publishers Piper and Ullstein, and is the leading publisher of children's books via Carlsen Verlag and Thienemann Verlag. The business area also includes Norway's leading publishing group Cappelen Damm with the bookshop chain Tanum, and the publisher Tammi in Finland. Bonnier Publishing Group is comprised of among others children's publishers Templar and Autumn in the UK and publishers in France and Australia.

Bonnier Broadcasting & Evening Paper

Bonnier Broadcasting includes television, radio and evening papers.

The business area includes evening papers Expressen, GT and Kvällsposten, Swedish TV4 Group and Finnish MTV Media. TV4 Group operates Sweden's largest television channel TV4, a further nine channels and C More, the leading provider of premium TV in the Nordic countries. MTV Media operates the largest commercial Finnish television channel MTV3 and a further eight channels, as well as Finland's leading commercial radio station Radio Nova.

Bonnier Business Press

Bonnier Business Press publishes daily business newspapers and conducting online activity in eleven countries. The business area also includes Medicine Today International.

In addition to Dagens Industri in Sweden and Børsen in Denmark, there are sister publications in Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Slovenia and Bulgaria. Dagens Industri is the group's largest business daily with a circulation of more than 110,000 copies.

Medicine Today International, MTI, provides six independent news magazines oriented toward the health care industry in Northern Europe. The newspapers are published in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Poland and Slovenia.

Bonnier Digital

Bonnier Digital coordinates and manages projects, technology and advertising sales within digital media throughout Bonnier. The business area is responsible for developing existing and new business models for a digital world.

Bonnier Entertainment

Bonnier Entertainment includes film and games.

The business area includes Swedish Film company Svensk Filmindustri (SF) with operations in all of the Nordic countries; SF Bio with cinemas in Sweden and Norway; Homeenter, which sells film and music throughout the Nordic region; Discshop, which sells film and games in Sweden and Finland; Bonnier Gaming, which conducts and promotes the game concepts online; SF Anytime, which supplies video on demand services in Scandinavia, and Expericard, offering the market a way to package and distribute CDs and DVDs.

Bonnier Magazines

Bonnier Magazines is comprised of of three magazine publishers: Bonnier Publications established in Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki and Moscow; Bonnier Tidskrifter in Stockholm and Bonnier Corporation in the United States. Together, they publish approximately 200 titles in seven countries. In addition to magazines (special interest magazines, lifestyle magazines and trade press), the activities also include digital media, custom publishing, events, film production and books. 

Bonnier Morning Paper

Bonnier Morning Paper publishes daily newspapers in Sweden.
 
The business area also conducts other newspaper activities like Bold Printing Group and digital media. The newspaper operations consists of the morning papers Dagens Nyheter, Sydsvenskan, Kristianstadsbladet, Ystads AllehandaTrelleborgs Allehanda, and City Malmö Lund.
