When the first LasseMaja book was published in 2002, no one had heard of an iPhone. But nearly ten years after their first appearance, the popular Swedish children's series featuring the intrepid Lasse and Maja and their detective agency has now debuted as an app for the iPhone - and it's already No. 1 for games/kids in Sweden at the App Store. The app was launched on Oct. 21 - you can download it here.
With the help of clues from Lasse and Maja, kids can help the police chief find who robbed the candy shop, stole the cash register at Bio Rio and a wide range of messy situations. The voiceover on the app and for the police chief is Martin Widmark, the author of the series.
"We want to see if Bonnier Carlsen's top-selling book series and characters can be a hit in a market and sales channel where games are the biggest sellers," says Magnus Nytell, digital manager at Bonnierförlagen. "I am convinced that the app will be our biggest selling app ever."
