MTV Media and Design Capital Helsinki 2012

When Helsinki celebrates as Design Capital 2012, MTV Media will be there as a partner - and as a key purveyer of design.

MTV Media will be one of the main partners of the Design Capital Helsinki 2012. The Design Capital Helsinki 2012 project has plenty to gain from the partnership, since Finns spend a total of seven hours a week watching MTV Media's TV channels and accessing mtv3.fi and sub.fi.

"MTV Media is participating with great enthusiasm as one of the main partners in the WDC Helsinki 2012 project," says Heikki Rotko, executive vice president at MTV Media. "MTV Media has a unique role in the everyday life of Finnish consumers. Design too is also an important part of MTV Media's offering. The upcoming cooperation will enable the valuable message of the WDC Helsinki 2012 project to be broadcast directly to the hearts of Finnish viewers through MTV Media's channels and contents."

In electronic media, design is about how the channels and services are seen and perceived by their viewers and users, says Rotko. The character of TV channels is created by the distinctive screen looks of each and the interval elements that guide viewers from one program to another, such as the logo indicating the break for commercials and continuity announcements.

"Partnership in the WDC project will be utilized in many of MTV Media's projects as the basis of elements demonstrating that design is an integral part of our business and brands," says Rotko.
