Karolina Westerdahl came to Expressen as an intern when she was studying journalism, but she had already managed to work with most of the different supplements before she ended up at the news desk as an editor.
"I work nights and love the fast pulse of the job," she says. "The news desk has its own special something."
At Bonnier Corporation, however, she is sinking her teeth into a completely different role - that of advertising artist. The position includes, among other tasks, the layout of ads for different Bonnier Corporation magazines.
"I've never worked with advertising before, just editorial content, so it's clearly a challenge," says Westerdahl. "But we do a certain amount of advertorials, which are a crossover between advertising and editorial material. We also work a lot for production, who have direct contact with the advertisers."
Westerdahl has only one piece of advice for others considering the GROW program: apply!
"Add a bit of spice to your application, and don't be scared to go after an unusual position," she says. "The more you learn, the more you have to take home with you."
