Meet Heikki Lampinen

In 1987, Heikki Lampinen left Finland at age 20 to study at Umeå University in northern Sweden. "I met a nice girl, got married and moved to Stockholm after I finished my degree," he says. And so he ended up staying in Sweden, joining the sales staff at Sweden's No. 1 daily newspaper, Dagens Nyheter, in 1999. A decade later, he has been named a finalist in the Bonnier Sales Awards as Sales Manager of the Year.

"What's great about the job is that it's constantly changing, tricky and difficult - every day!" he says. He's especially proud of the team he's put together and developed. When asked why he thinks he was named a finalist, he says it is probably due to his ability to constantly aim to be better, along with his high energy and way of being impatient in a positive way.

"It's a great honor to be nominated," he says.
