Meet Chris Cote

A Week in the Life: The Transworld SURF Editor-in-Chief parties on Australia's Gold Coast.

My name is Chris Cote, and I am the Editor-in-Chief of Transworld SURF magazine and transworldsurf.com. This is day one of my five-day blog bonanza. I just returned from a week in Australia. Transworld SURF teamed up with New Era (a leading American hat manufacturer) and rented an amazing house right on the beach in Coolangatta, on Australia's Gold Coast. We went there to cover the start of the ASP World Tour, but the waves were really terrible so we ended up doing a bunch of interviews, attending parties, hanging out with the world's best surfers, and enjoying some of the fine ales the region has to offer. My brother is the editor of transworldsurf.com, and we do a little web show called Cote's Cube.  Since there were no waves to shred, we grabbed as many of the world's best surfers to interview—check out our handy work from five days in Australia.

As you can see, the weather was perfect and the pros were all in great spirits. We also premiered our a film that I was the Executive Producer on called, A Fly In The Champagne—yeah, Kelly Slater was there with me (not that I'm bragging or anything—even though it sounds like I am).

My flight home was awesome! I got a whole row to myself and slept for 13 hours straight—I rule.

Now I'm back at my desk at Transworld's new office, I have some jet lag, but I think I'm too busy to really deal with it right now.

Deadlines are here, time to work.
