Ann Skånberg loves working at a company where men and women are treated equally and age is irrelevant. Skånberg credits Sweden's TV4 with this kind of forward thinking and its strong brand for helping her to become a finalist for Field Sales Representative of the Year in the Bonnier Sales Awards. "I am so proud and honored," she says. "I have worked as a salesman for almost 40 years and this is the biggest thing that has happened to me in my sales career."
Of course Skånberg's success is also due to her hard work. "It's important to have a weekly plan," she advises. "You can't go home on Friday if you haven't sold anything. And mental training is important. I always compete with myself."
But it's not all about competition. It's also about liking what you do. "The best thing about my job is meeting people, building lasting relationships and making my customers happy," she says. "It may be doing business and making money, but selling is the most fun I know!"
