Lots of Dinosaurs Invade the iPad

Sarah Sheppard's children's book Lots of Dinosaurs was written by a dino lover for other dino lovers, no matter what size or age. The award-winning top-seller from Bonnier Carlsen is now out in a global iPad version in English and Swedish, complete with everything from straight facts to weird noises and a whole bunch of surprises sure to inspire plenty of talk about the life of dinosaurs.

The iPad version lets readers wander through the jungle and meet dinosaurs, find out what the dinosaurs might be doing today had they survived until our day and age. You can also see how they compared to each other in size. You can even shake the iPad and learn why they disappeared.

"For us it's been extremely exciting to see how the book we published has been transformed and developed into something completely new, but still with the same basic content and feeling as the original book," says Eva Dahlin, manager for literature at Bonnier Carlsen. "The lively style of storytelling we can now provide brings out the book's qualities in a way that I think will surprise many readers and give them pleasure. And the fact that  it's also available globally and can be experienced by so many more people makes it even more exciting."

The iPad edition was conceived, designed and developed in cooperation with the design agency Doberman at the behest of Magnus Nytell, who is responsible for Bonnierförlagen's digital editions.

"Lots of Dinosaurs is the perfect book to use to create an app," says Anna-Karin Stockhaus, web manager at Bonnierförlagen. "It's informative and instructive, with cool graphics and a sense of humor. Plus that size of the iPad means it's user-friendly even for younger dinosaur fans."
