This blog post is dedicated to food. It's a great topic: the whole world is represented in food species here in New York. I have tried to eat as many different dishes as possible: various ethnic and American, several different pastries, even street kitchen food and hot dogs. Usually, all food is very good here; the only thing I don't like is Starbucks coffee. Before I left, my friends warned me that I would gain weight during these months, but by far, I can still fit my clothes...

Bonnier Corporation office is located in Midtown Manhattan, close to familiar tourist sights, such as Empire State Building and Macy's department store. The area is filled with high office buildings; very busy at daytime, quieter at night. It is not one of the best restaurant areas, but there are still plenty of places which I have not had time to try out. I eat my lunch outdoors every day as I do in Finland too (I hate cooking), but my workmates here take their home made food with them every now and then.
In Finland, we used to call Thursday "Happy Day". It means that on Thurdays, one of my favorite lunch restaurants serves my favorite lunch food, meatballs. Here I have another kind of Happy Day; it's whenever one of my energetic workmates has baked cupcakes (yummy!) or something else delicious. We don't have that kind of tradition within our team in Finland, so I really enjoy having it here. Thank you so much Paule Anne, Olivia and Georgia for your excellent pastries! I will definitely miss them.
Last weekend was my "official tourist weekend" as I had visitors from Finland. During the weekend I learned something essential: if you don't want to waste your time in long lines, wake up early! Thanks to my friends who were suffering jetlag, we managed to get to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island without any lines. Luck was on our side whole weekend; accidentally we found the best spot to see the July 4th fireworks. Perfect!
Next blog post will be my last. I will reveal you the TOP 10 coolest things in NYC! Stay tuned!
