On November 25th, the seventh annual Runet Prize for best websites was given out in Moscow. Among the winners was the online portal Gastronom.ru, the website of Bonnier Publications' magazine Gastronom, which won in the category of health and leisure.

Gastronom.ru was launched only in 2008 but the site already has 1 million unique visitors per month. It is the first online food resource with its own content in Russia. "Despite the economic crisis, we offered people something positive the whole year: interesting ingredients, beautiful photos, competitions with excellent prizes," says Galina Goncharova, head of Internet projects at Bonnier Publications Russia. "We are glad that this contribution was appreciated by the contest organizers."

The Runet Prize was founded in 2004, and quickly became the main national award for information technologies and the Internet. Since its start, more than 140 sites have won the award. This year, more than 1,000 applications were received.
