Twice as Nice

Bonnier Corporation's magazines Field & Stream and Saveur each win an ASME.

Two Bonnier magazines won ASME awards at the 44th Annual National Magazine Awards, held at the Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City on April 30, 2009.

Field & Stream won the ASME award for General Excellence in the 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 circulation category.  The magazine has been nominated for an ASME award 14 times; this is Field & Stream's first win.

In a memo to his editorial team, Publisher Eric Zinczenko said, "Please join me in congratulating Anthony [Licata], who in his first full year as editor, wins the highest award in his craft, and to the rest of his editorial group for making their mark on our brand's storied history. "

Saveur took home the Ellie for Single-Topic Issue for their spotlight on breakfast.  In a statement, the ASME organization said, "From basic bacon and eggs to stir-fried noodles served in Singapore, this delightful package opens readers' eyes to the intimacy-and surprising dimensions-of the first meal of the day."   This is Saveur's first Ellie in this category and fourth overall.

There were 1,707 entries from more than 350 print and online magazines.

Bonnier's Popular Science was also nominated for General Excellence in the 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 circulation category.  Parenting.com was nominated for General Excellence Online in the Less than 1,000,000 Average Monthly Unique Visitors category.
