Eleven promising business ideas emerge from Bonnier Hack Day, with one clear winner.
After 24 hours of solid creativity, Bonnier Hack Day ended with a round of three-minute pitches from the 11 teams that made it through the night, still fired up despite the long hours of work.
A team from Sydsvenskan won the day, with their "Citypedia" concept, which combined data on any city from gowalla/4sq, Twitter and Google along with users' own ratings to create a city wiki with an app for iPhone and advertising. Team members included Per-Olof Bondesson, Johannes Fosseus and Sara Johannesson.
"We were particularly impressed by all the different ways you combined different sources to provide evaluations," said Hack Day organizer Paulina Modlitba Söderlund when the winner was announced.
Other teams getting a nod as finalists from the jury were Doberman/Citysounds.fm with their Pictoriala photo overview of news and TV4's repr.is, an aggregator program that combines all video play sites where you can click on the clip to end up at the originator site.
The jury consisted of Sarah Öhrvall and Alexander Jamal of Bonnier R&D, Roger Åberg of Feber, Spotify founder Andreas Ehn and Joakim Jardenberg of Mindpark AB. The winning team from Sydsvenskan received free tickets to the Scandinavian Web Developers Conference on June 2.
"It was nice to get a chance to do this," said Anders Lemke of Benjamin Media. "It's also good to see how other people are thinking and get new ideas."
Bonnier Hack Day, which provides a forum for creativity and idea development within new media across Bonnier companies, was sponsored by Bonnier R&D.

yes, Bonnier, Estonia, Äripäev. But my mistake, I kind of understood that there is a ongoing forum, so that participants and people who are interested can communicate there. Unfortunately this time we could not participate, I find the idea of Hack Day GREAT :) Lets hope next time we will not have same time cost-cutting and crazy work-graphic :)
