Anna Returns Home

Anna returns to Sweden after her stay in Florida

There seem to be children all over the place here at the airport in Washington. I'm traveling with Danish Maria Brunckhorst Smidt, who brought her whole little family on the GROW program; the wonderfully cute twins Alfred and Anne-Mai seem to be all over the place right now.

Time during the GROW period has passed devastatingly fast all the way from the beginning to the end, ever since I left a frozen Stockholm for the unknown down in the tropical warmth.

Michelle Makmann: Archipelago

Our Floridian GROW blogger in Stockholm visits the famed archipelago with her boss

For the last few weeks, I have seen brightly colored feathers stuck on branches, chickens, eggs and witches all over the city.  Chickens and eggs, I get...but witches? When I asked my friends about it, they told me that in Sweden, they believe the witches fly off to Blåkulla to go chat with Satan the Thursday before Easter, and when they return, people would light fires to scare them away.

Michelle Makmann: Birthday

Our GROW blogger takes a trip to Copenhagen for her Earth Day birthday

Earth Day and I shared the same birthday this year. What better way to celebrate then to head to Copenhagen for the weekend and meet up with Shannon and Tiki! I flew in late Friday night and the girls met me at Central Station; we headed to the hostel so I could put my bag down before going out and exploring the town. When we turned the corner, I looked up and couldn't believe what I saw...

DUH, DUH, DUH!!

And the saga continues....Tiki had booked us in the Saga Hotel. How appropriate for the weekend ahead.

From Florida to Stockholm: This videographer calls Sweden a photographer's dream

Hej!

My name is Michelle Makmann from the Winter Park, Florida Bonnier Corp office where I work as the Multimedia Producer for the Enthusiasts Group (Water Sports, Mountain Sports, Action Sports). I hung up my swimsuits and dive gear for a bit and put away the underwater housings to come and work in beautiful, COLD, Stockholm, Sweden as a Photographer/Editor at TV4. From the weather to the subjects, this has been a huge transition!
