Life At Bonnier - MTV3

Meet Lauri Lampi

The distance between Helsinki and Stockholm isn't far for GROW participant Lauri Lampi.

For website nerds, says GROW participant Lauri Lampi, managing websites doesn't differ much between Sweden and Finland. Lampi, himself a self-professed nerd, normally works as a service manager at MTV3 in Finland but is spending the summer working for online sales and advertising company Bink in Stockholm as a product manager. "All this managing is basically taking care of various development projects and processes for different kinds of websites," he says.

Meet Emma Halmekoski

The voyage from Finland to Sweden may not be far, but it's been full of fascinating work and funny people for GROW participant Emma Halmekoski.

When Sweden lost to Finland in a hockey game where the two countries spar off against one another, Emma Halmekoski couldn't resist teasing her colleagues at SF Bio in Stockholm. But the Finnish Halmekoski, who is spending three months at SF Bio as part of the GROW exchange program, had to face her own teasing when Sweden beat Finland at soccer not long after. "My colleagues were giving it all back to me," she says with a smile.

Blogs Aimed at Advertisers

In Finland, the MTV3 and Sub TV channels start a new blog initiative on their business-to-business website, Spotti.fi.

For MTV3 and Sub in Finland, what could be more natural for keeping advertisers updated about online advertising possibilities than a website? With the business-to-business website Spotti.fi, the two TV channels provide information about ongoing and upcoming programming, advertising opportunities, hot topics and current affairs in the media world and more.

Meet Anni Rein

GROW participant from Finland's MTV3 fits right in with Danish culture and life at business daily Børsen.

Anni Rein says she must have been a Copenhagener in a former life. "I've surprised myself with how easily I've blended in here in Copenhagen," says Rein, who moved from Helsinki to live in Copenhagen for three months as part of the GROW program.

Meet Lauri Ogawa

Bonnier Sales Awards Field Representative of the Year finalist Lauri Ogawa has the right attitude and positive outlook to turn the hard times into successes.

Understanding the rapidly changing world of digital media and customer needs were the keys to success during past year, says Lauri Ogawa, Bonnier Sales Awards Field Sales Representative of the Year finalist.

MTV3 star and Golden Venla winner Aku Hirviniemi

Finland's MTV Media was a big winner in the Golden Venla Awards, the country's most important TV competition. Actor and comedian Aku Hirviniemi, who stars in Stand Up on MTV3, won two awards - one  as best actor and one as the audience pick for best performer. The MTV3 hit series Easy Life won for best drama series and the search for lost relatives show Kadonneen jäljillä won for best reality program - for the second year in a row.

Meet Rebecca Kinnear

Getting fresh ideas for the web by day and enjoying Helsinki's funk music scene by night, GROW participant Rebecca Kinnear takes full advantage of her job change.

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, the Sunshine State, Rebecca Kinnear has spent her fall in Finland. "I'd heard how cold and dark it can be, but there have been plenty of beautiful days when the sun is shining and the weather is lovely," she says.

When it comes to watching out for the health of the Baltic sea, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is one of Finland's non-profit organizations taking the lead. The organization has a number of initiatives aimed at protecting the ecology. The creation of wetlands in coastal zones, which prevent runoff from farming entering the sea, is one major project. Preparation for a possible oil spill is another, with some 5,500 volunteers recruited already to help in the case of such an emergency.
