Sales Council Network Means Better Business

Bonnier's ad sales managers meet and exchange ideas and experiences.

The Sales Council is a network for sales managers within Bonnier. The council has some 10 members who meet four to five times a year to exchange ideas and experiences and discuss issues that they face.

For TV4's sales director Michael Grimborg, who has been the chair of the council for the past three years, the most important aspect is the networking.

"Meeting and keeping in touch is the most important thing," says Grimborg. "If something happens it's so much easier to pick up the phone and talk to one another.

Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter's advertising director Henrik Stengel talkis about the fight for ads in an increasingly fragmented media market.

What is the biggest challenge in ad sales, for Dagens Nyheter as well as the general market?

For Dagens Nyheter, we're facing a total remake of the newspaper which is a challenge both editorially and in terms of business. In the long run, the challenge is to reach strong profitability for DN as a whole. More generally, it means finding the right business model for every channel - print, web, mobile, tablets etc.

Reklamcupen: In the Name of Creativity

Summer blahs? Not for creative people. Reklamcupen - the Advertising Cup - is underway, a competition sponsored by Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter.

Since 2004, Swedish daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter has given an award for the most creative advertisement for a particular brand with a special kind of competition. The contest, called Reklamcupen, is designed like an athletic tournament, with the first round finishing today, July 21. Two ads compete against each other in a total of 10 matches, then it's time for the next round, then the quarter finals, the semifinals and the final.
