With the Swedish release of the book Bonusföräldrar, publisher Bonnier Fakta brings Danish author Jesper Juul to Sweden for an author talk.

Family therapist, public speaker and author Jesper Juul may be from Denmark, but his books and readers can be found in many countries in a range of languages.

Meet Libby VanderPloeg

GROW participant Libby VanderPloeg trades magazines for book design, Brooklyn for Stockholm.

Libby VanderPloeg has been working as an art director at Bonnier Corporation for two years with Saveur and now the Luxury & Lifestyle Group. The native Midwesterner has lived in Brooklyn, New York since 2006 but now she'll be spending the next months in Stockholm as a GROW participant.

Meet Gunta Lauck

Moving from Hamburg to Stockholm, GROW participant Gunta Lauck designs books for Bonnier Fakta for four months.

The difference lies in the logo on the cover. At her home company Carlsen Verlag, says GROW participant Gunta Lauck, the logo is prominently placed in nearly always the same position. But at Bonnier Fakta, where she is on a four-month exchange, the logo on the cover of the books is integrated into the design. "It is subordinate to the illustration and typography," she says. "And I admire this very much."

Meet Jaclyn Rymuza

Magazine designer from Florida appreciates eco-friendly Stockholm.

When Jaclyn Rymuza decided to make a temporary switch from designing magazines to designing books, she was motivated by a number of factors. "I applied to the GROW program because I knew this would be a fantastic opportunity to experience new design ideas and to experience new challenges and also a whole new culture," she says.  "Overall, I wanted to be inspired!"

Tuija Kuusela: Exploring Stockholm without a dog

Tuija from Finland uses a guidebook for dog owners to explore the Swedish capital.

Stockholm's city centre (Innerstaden) is divided into five neighbourhoods: Gamla Stan, Norrmalm, Östermalm, Södermalm, Kungsholmen and Vasastan. While having tried to get a general view of the whole, I must say that Stockholm manages to be both cosmopolitan and maintain a small town feel. For being such a big city, the center area is surprisingly humane. It consists of a group of islands so you can see water almost everywhere. All the possible pieces of land are not developed — there is a lot of vast or smaller green areas and parks.

Tuija Kuusela: Princesses and princess cakes

Tuija from Finland looks forward to next year's wedding boom in Sweden – while working on Bonnier Fakta's wedding calendar.

The content of the work at Bonnierförlagen has been quite familiar to me, because it's very similar to the work I'm used to do at Tammi Publishers. From the very beginning I've been entrusted challenging and diverse tasks: cover designs for both fiction and non-fiction books, typografical inner layouts for non-fiction titles and even some illustrations (an area I almost had forgot in Finland because of the lack of time).

Tuija Kuusela: Trying to get along with the Swedish language

Tuija experiences the differences between Swedish spoken in Finland and in Sweden.

Bonnier Fakta has existed for one year. The amount editional staff is about 25 people, and they release about 65 new titles every year. Fakta is the result of a reorganization and merging of the lists of the illustrated non-fiction titles of the three publishing companies that belongs to Bonnierförlagen: Albert Bonniers Förlag, Forum and Wahlström & Widstrand.

Tuija Kuusela: GROW is like a lottery win!

Our Finnish GROW ambassador looking forward to work with her passion.

Hejsan from Stockholm!

Gabrielle Green: Design in Stockholm

Our GROW ambassador book designer in Stockholm appreciates Swedish design and explores graphic textiles at the flagship IKEA.

Design is what I am here for and design is the topic of the day. In my opinion, I think it is a fact that the Swedes are stylish. If I haven't shown this in the example of the office environment, let me try again with a discussion of the books at Bonnier Fakta, the designers I have discovered throughout this city and the beautiful things I have found, love, and really wish I could bring home with me. Here are a few examples.

Meet Gabrielle Green

From Sydney to Stockholm: our GROW ambassador thinks that Google translate will be her best workmate.
