Gabriel, Carlsen and Cappelen Damm Win Children's Literature Prize

Bonnier book publishing houses wins three of four categories in the prestigious Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis 2010: non-fiction, picture book and children's book.

Gabriel Verlag (an imprint of Thienemann) and Carlsen Verlag in Germany and Norway's Cappelen Damm won prizes in this year's Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis 2010.

New German Soccer Series for Kids

The Z-Team soccer series hopes to spark reader interest in boys - and girls.

In an age where girls are the biggest readers, children's book publisher Thienemann Verlag is making a push to get boys reading more with a new soccer series, the Z-Team. The series is written for boys - and girls - in two age groups: those 6 and up and those 8 and up. The first six books of the series were launched in early March - four for younger readers and two for older readers.

Thienemann launches new imprint

The German book publisher Thienemann launches a new imprint - Planet Girl - addressing girls and young women.  

For many years, the German publishing house Thienemann has been publishing childrens' and young adult books. Thienemann is especially known for the notably successful series 'Cheeky girls - cheeky books': about 8 million copies have been sold in Germany up to now.
