Saveur Launches E-Book

Featuring simple dishes that are easy to prepare, Saveur releases its first e-book, SAVEUR: Easy Italian.

The first in a series of e-books, SAVEUR: Easy Italian, was released on December 6 for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. It is currently available only at the Apple iBookstore, but will eventually be for sale on Kindle and Nook as well. SAVEUR: Easy Italian quickly hit the No. 3 spot in the Cooking, Food, and Wine category. The title features 30 recipes for classic dishes that are simple to prepare, using ingredients likely found already in your pantry, including minestrone soup, pastas, and panna cotta.

Folio Awards to Bonnier Corporation

Saveur wins big in Folio's Ozzie and Eddie awards.

Bonnier took home eight Folio awards for 2011‚ with Saveur winning four and Working Mother one gold; Field & Stream took two silver awards TransWorld SNOWboarding a bronze picking up an award each.

How do you write a cookbook about comfort food? For America's popular food magazine Saveur, it took all the right elements falling into place, lots of discussion and plenty of hard work to produce the recently published The New Comfort Food: Home Cooking from Around the World.

It had been nearly ten years since Saveur had last put out a cookbook.

Bonnier Corporation in Top Five for Ad Page Increases

Bonnier Corporation in the U.S. makes the top five list of companies with the biggest ad page increase from 2009 to 2010.

Magazine industry online publication Min released its list of magazine publishers with increases in ad pages from 2009 to 2010, where Bonnier Corporation landed in the top five at the No. 4 spot.

According to Min, "of Bonnier's 21 titles, the Parenting Group-Parenting School Years (+23.37 percent) and Parenting Early Years (+21.50 percent) - were the company's advertising champions in 2010. Saveur (+18.98 percent) was a close third."

Saveur Ads Up Two Years in a Row

Saveur managed to up its number of ad pages in 2009 and 2010, one of only two magazines to do so as tracked by Min.

In a study by media trade publication Min, Saveur's ad pages jumped 33.48 percent over a three-year span from 2008 to 2010. Which put Bonnier Corporation's Saveur at the No. 2 spot among all magazines tracked for growth by Min.

In Min's analysis, only four monthly magazines that had ad page gains in 2010 also showed gains in 2009 versus 2008. People StyleWatch was in the top slot, with Saveur No. 2.

Bonnier Corp. Boasts 16 Finalists in Ozzies and Eddies

Saveur and Field & Stream garner three nominations each in Folio's annual awards for magazines.

Folio, the main U.S. magazine industry organization, has announced the finalists for its annual awards, the Eddies for editorial content and the Ozzies for graphic design. Competing for the prizes are 16 nominations from Bonnier Corporation magazines - Saveur and Field & Stream garnered three nominations each.

Field & Stream and Saveur Finalists in ASME Best Cover Contest

Cast your vote for two Bonnier title covers competing in the cover contest of the American Society of Magazine editors and Amazon.

Two of Bonnier Corporation's magazines, Field & Stream and Saveur, have been chosen to complete in the ASME Best Cover Contest 2010. The contest is sponsored by American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) and Amazon.com.  The finalists were chosen by 90 top magazine editors. The winners in 12 categories will be chosen by Amazon.com customers and announced on October 3 in Chicago at the American Magazine Conference.

New Publishing Unit for Bonnier Corporation

A new group within Bonnier Corporation is aimed at the luxury and lifestyle market.

Bonnier Corporation has announced that it is placing five of its top brands under a new publishing unit to establish a stronger position in the luxury and lifestyle market. The brands in the new group are Garden Design, ,Saveur SKI, Skiing, and SNOW.

Culinary Coup

Weldon Owen and Saveur win first prizes in IACP Awards.

Bonnier Corporation's Weldon Owen and Saveur magazine each won two International Association of Culinary Professionals awards, announced at the IACP's New Culinary Order annual meeting in April in Portland, Oregon. The IACP is one of the largest global culinary organizations and has been giving out the awards since 1986.

Bonnier Wins Big at Best of the Web Awards

Bonnier titles garner top billing in Min Online's annual web prizes and Rachel Fishman Feddersen is named Content Strategist of the Year.

Bonnier was one of the companies sweeping the annual Best of the Web Awards given out by MinOnline.
