With 6 million searchable titles, tips and the ability to buy e-books directly on your cell phone, the Adlibris iPhone app update gives you more.

Now you can buy, download and read e-books on the same platform with Swedish online book retailer Adlibris' new updated app for the iPhone. The app is a living library - all e-books that Adlibris sells are available on the app, and even the e-books users have already bought are accessible.

"I know that many of our customers have waited for this, so we are extremely happy to finally be able to provide this service," says Pär Svärdson, CEO for Adlibris.

Adlibris Kids Are Here

Online book retailer adds a branch for children.

Sweden's biggest online bookstore for children was launched on Wednesday - Adlibris Kids. The site has some 5,000 children's book titles for kids up to 12 years old, with clear age categories, information, campaigns and book tips from both kids and adults. Kids can also search for books by age.

"We're aiming to be the biggest sellers of children's books," says Pär Svärdson, CEO for Adlibris.

Adlibris' children's and young adult books sell for SEK 150 million and Adlibris hopes to double sales with its new online bookstore.

Adlibris launches Letto, a Swedish e-reader

The Nordic countries’ biggest online book retailer Adlibris today launches a Swedish e-reader, Letto. A special online book store for e-books adapted for Letto and other e-readers opened as well, with books in the open format epub.

"Letto is a new way to read books," says Pär Svärdson, CEO of Adlibris. "We have looked at e-books for a decade, but it seems they are beginning to be taken seriously now."

The latest Swedish books as well as a broad selection of classics are easy to find and download at www.adlibris.com/letto.

"Adlibris' idea is to offer a wide choice for book lovers," says Svärdson. "Letto is as small as a book but big enough to hold an entire library. It's easy to carry in a bag, to work or to the beach.

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, who is on tour in Sweden, visited AdLibris's warehouse in Morgongåva this week.  His visit highlights a business that is growing, despite a challenged economy.

In the first quarter of 2009, online bookstore AdLibris had sales of nearly 25 percent over the same period last year. AdLibris sells 3.5 million books annually throughout the Nordic region. In November, the company recruited 20 people, and this year, they expect to have a turnover of one billion kronor.
