Chris Allen Joins Bonnier Corporation as VP of Group Publishing

Chris Allen, formerly of Cooking Light, joins Bonnier Corp. as Vice President of Group Publishing and Corporate Sales for the travel, shelter and lifestyle brands, including Spa, Caribbean Travel & Life, Islands and Garden Design.

"Chris's success with Cooking Light was unparalleled in our industry," says Bonnier Corp. CEO Terry Snow.  "He will bring Bonnier great vision, leadership and sales expertise as our company continues to attract top talent."

Allen worked for 17 years at Cooking Light.  He is credited with building one of the most profitable food and healthy lifestyle brands, with revenues reaching as high as $148 million.  Before leading Cooking Light, Allen spent eight years at People Weekly.

Popular Science Launches the First Interactive 3-D Cover

PopSci's groundbreaking interactive cover lets readers play with reality.

Bonnier Corporation's Popular Science has launched the first ever interactive 3-D magazine cover with its July issue.  Readers can go to popsci.com/imagination to try it out.  (If you don't have the magazine handy, you can also print out a copy of the cover there.)

Holding the magazine cover up to a webcam launches a 3-D interactive graphic of windmills that move as you move your cover.  Blowing into the computer's microphone sets the windmill blades spinning.

Bonnier acquires Popular Photography, Flying, Boating, Sound & Vision and American Photo.

Bonnier Corp. and Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. (HFM U.S.) announced today that Bonnier has acquired five magazine titles from HFM U.S.: Popular Photography, Flying, Boating, Sound & Vision and American Photo. With this latest deal, which closed Monday, Bonnier Corp. strengthens its position as a leading media company for special-interest brands.
